May's Success Story
One thing I've known from a young age was that I didn't want to start a career, work until I was 65 and then retire. I also knew that I didn't like working for other people, so I chose to study business administration in college, determined to be the man instead of spending my life working for the man.
It was while working at a gym during college that a member of this gym recommended that I read Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. I picked the book up a few days later and once I started I couldn't put it down. The book was absolutely amazing and immediately got me thinking. I literally pounced on the next book in the Rich Dad library and after reading many others and playing the CASHFLOW 101 game my life began changing. I'm heading in a different direction now – a direction that has the potential to fulfill all my dreams.
It was the summer of 2005 when I attended my first Fast Track to Cash Flow event. It was an evening event that captured my soul and left me wanting more. I immediately signed up for a weekend event, which was even better! And it was here that I had my first opportunity to talk with Darren Weeks. I thanked him for an amazing event and we talked about my passion to learn more and pursue a business opportunity that would allow me to one day quit my J.O.B. (Just Over Broke). Darren helped me realize that one of the first steps is to open your mind and become conscious of your thoughts. Darren taught that instead of saying I can't do that, I needed to program my mind to say How can I do that? Darren suggested that I look into his Fast Track to Real Estate program because it would be a great way to learn a very practical Canadian system for getting involved in real estate investing.
I decided to invest heavily in my education by purchasing the Fast Track to Real Estate course, the Canadian Advisor Series and other related programs. I started putting the Fast Track to Real Estate program into action. I also attended as many real estate and business events that I could and began networking with like-minded people. It was through meeting people and getting people to subscribe to our continuity program, a monthly newsletter that we produced based on teachings from the Fast Track to Real Estate program, that we were able to find a well-established real estate investor who was willing to help us make the switch from renters to owners. In August 2005, my wife and I become homeowners. A pipedream only months earlier that we thought would take years to achieve.
Just last month, my wife and I incorporated our first company. We started Schneider Group Consulting & Investments Ltd. (www.schneidergroup.ca) with the goal of educating people in money and finances, while providing the best real estate investments in the Alberta marketplace. We are working with average investors, helping them achieve above average returns with real estate investing through proven systems built upon economic fundamentals. Other innovative programs are soon to be launched.
My wife and I have recently learned that we're expecting our first baby at Christmastime, and we're not the least bit worried about the loss of my wife's income during maternity leave. The business we've built and the investments we're making are more than enough to provide for us and allow us to focus more attention on our child. My wife even has the freedom to choose to stay home and raise our child. Without our steady progress in real estate investing, these options would not be available to us.
I want to thank Darren, Vera and the whole Fast Track to Cash Flow team for the wonderful, selfless job you do with such passion. You're true heroes who are on a mission to help educate Canadians in financial literacy. If it wasn't for meeting you and experiencing the powerful teachings that you share, my wife and I would not be at this point in our lives.
