Three years ago I attended my first Fast Track to Cash Flow event in Richmond, BC. The energy in the room was exhilarating and Darren’s casual speaking style was impressive – he really connected with the crowd. I had read several Rich Dad Poor Dad books prior to attending this event, yet I found that Darren was able to make the concepts come to life. He helped me realize that the Rich Dad philosophy can and does work in Canada. One comment that Darren hammered home over and over again during the event was to Take Action.
My wife and I had been tossing around the idea of starting a home-based business for some time; and Darren’s presentation made me realize that we simply had to take action. This is when we decided to create our on-line home-based business – All Wrapped Up Party Supplies.
The mission of our company is to provide everything needed to create a memorable children’s birthday party delivered right to your door. Our birthday party packages include invitations, dessert plates, cups, napkins, table covers, favour bags, hats, banner, blowouts, balloons and cutlery. Package prices range from $35 - $40 and we carry over 30 popular themes, including Barbie, Harry Potter, Spider Man, Bratz, Elmo, Hello Kitty, Dora the Explorer and many more. Loot bags are also available at a cost of $5.00 each.
So far we’ve received excellent feedback from our customers. They continually tell us that they love our products and appreciate the convenience of having everything arrive in one box. They no longer have to travel from store to store to find what they need.
The whole purpose of starting our business was to take action. Since running a business is new to us, we’ve used this experience as a learning process. We’ve learned what is required to start up a business, such as how to find suppliers, how to set up a website, how to attract customers and how the power of e-Bay can help our business succeed. We’ve made many mistakes along the way, but the benefits have been plenty. One of the greatest benefits (besides dealing with great customers) was learning about the tax advantages of operating a home-based business. The tax savings alone in the first year paid for our website design!
We’re still learning and after attending Robin J. Elliott’s Joint Venture Boot Camp in Vancouver (an event sponsored by the Fast Track Inner Circle) we are so excited at the possibility of taking our business to a whole new level.

I thought Akash was insane for making me get up at 6:30 on a Saturday morning (I live quite a distance out of Vancouver) and spend my whole day there.
