Deserving Divas
“Close your eyes & tell us what your perfect day would be like? Don’t leave any of the details out, we want brutal answers” said the Divas.
After the endless questions were answered by an all-women focus group, on-line polling visitors at the Deserving Divas website and interviewing any women they crossed paths with, their first event was born.
Lisa McKenzie and Sheri Iannuccilli, the entrepreneurial spirits behind Deserving Divas, gave birth to the first event of their new joint venture, an all-women evening called Deserving Divas: Spring Pamper Party, with a portion of ticket sales going to benefit a locale charity. The idea is to celebrate women and the many roles that they play. “We wanted to inspire women by taking them out of their environment for awhile and opening their eyes to the possibilities out there. Our mission is to create events for women, to benefit women, and benefit a charity.”
Sheri, a mother, full-time worker and part-time business owner, joined forces with Lisa, a dynamic stay-at-home mom, to create Deserving Divas. Both are married and have two children each. While Iannuccilli has a full-time job outside the home, Lisa decided when she married to leave behind a hectic, 15-year career working for financial institutions to stay at home and try to develop a home-based business through the Internet.
The two met by chance at their daughters’ preschool in 2004. During a play date for their daughters, Lisa and Sheri discovered that they had similar goals to have an income stream outside the usual nine-to-five. Not stopping at that one play date, the Divas spoke several times exchanging book recommendations and discussing ideas. By fall, Lisa and Sheri were business partners running Deserving Divas from their homes, mini vans and local coffee shops.
I called Sheri while we were both making dinner, with kids screaming in the background. “what do you think of getting women together and giving them the opportunity to do something for themselves?” I said, “Sure, sign me on’,” said Sheri.
“Not wanting to venture too far out of our comfort zone, we thought about to trying the concept at home parties.” “I was talking to my husband, who said the idea sounded amazing,” said Lisa “But he wondered how we could offer all the different activities to a home party” “We wanted to reach out to more than just 12 women. So our husbands said, “Why not kick it up a notch and make it big?” With the endless brainstorming and support of their husbands Angelo Pace and Steve Weidner, Deserving Divas got off the ground.
For the $30 price of a ticket, attendees took part in belly dancing, exotic dancing, seduction and sensuality workshops. For a small additional fee, guests also had the options of having fabulous glamour photos taken of themselves. Indulging in a massage, reflexology, manicures and paraffin treatments and got to try out the latest in hair styles. The event also hosted a Diva spring fashion show and had several vendors selling clothing, handbags, shoes, makeup, jewelry, accessories. This ladies playground also featured dance music, a cash bar and a few surprises…firemen. The event completely sold out with 400 women enjoying some “me” time with their girlfriends.
Their next event “Diva in the City” will be held on June 10th at Le Living Room. This event was brought about by some of the 400 women who attended our Spring Pamper party, who commented that they wanted MORE workshops. “We started with Patty Contenta, author of Sensuality Secrets who was at our Pamper Party and created a theme of inspiring and challenging workshops for women to feel empowered, more feminine, confident, sensual, balanced & loved. Basically have women uncover the Desirable Diva within themselves”. “It’s there, in every women, we just need to let it out!” said Lisa and Sheri.

I was given the first Rich Dad book by my husband Angelo as he was endlessly searching the internet for related Canadian Rich Dad content. That's when Angelo found Darren Weeks, the only Canadian certified Rich Dad facilitator. Angelo convinced Darren to organize the first event in Montreal in the summer of 2003.
From our first meeting with Darren in Montreal, our lives have never been the same. Darren has inspired and challenged Angelo and I to jump far out of our comfort zones too many times to count. The epitome was the first Super Business Conference in Edmonton in 2003 where we had the opportunity to meet and socialize with experts of all fields related to entrepreneurship and building successful businesses. Anything was possible at the SBC, all business ideas were shared with people who were eager to help you succeed.
We left with such an open and stretched mind, far from our usual frame of thought. These building blocks gave us the courage to believe in ourselves and our ideas.
We have attended many of Darren's evening and weekend events and always learn something new and meet some great people. In fact, we have made some great friends and ended up forming a real estate investment group with some people we met at one of Darren's events and just purchased our first 4plex this past December 2004. Meeting and speaking with like-minded people at Fast Track To Cashflow events, inspires us to do more and take ACTION as Darren constantly advises, knowledge is nothing without action. We also organize Cashflow game nights on a regular basis in Montreal, to help others on their journey out of the rat race.
There are certain people who were meant to lead and make this world a better place; Darren Weeks does this via his Fast Track to Cash Flow events by educating and helping people to find their own way and help them to TAKE ACTION!
